About the Role:
A rewarding opportunity awaits a committed Secondary Maths teacher at a leading Independent School in Melton, located in Melbourne's West. This permanent position is tailored to instruct students from years 7-10 in state-of-the-art facilities. The school, renowned globally with 125 campuses worldwide and a student body of over 9000, prides itself on its innovative approach to education. The Melton Campus, the largest in Victoria, serves local students as well as those from nearby regions such as Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Sunbury, and Werribee. With dedicated learning spaces for both Primary and Secondary education, the campus currently accommodates 225 students onsite.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum that aligns with The Victorian Curriculum
  • Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively convey mathematical concepts and problem-solving strategies.
  • Provide timely feedback to students on their performance and progress in math.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including providing additional support or challenges as needed.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on best practices in math education, teaching methodologies, and curriculum development.
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and school staff to share resources, ideas, and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary students
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
