    About the Role

    We are recruiting Mental Health Nurses to join a nurse-led primary health team within a youth custodial setting in Malmsbury. This role focuses on delivering mental health assessments, risk assessments, care planning, and coordinated mental health support to young people in custody.

    You will work closely with GPs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and positive mental health outcomes. A rotating roster across day, afternoon, and night shifts applies.


    Key Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health and risk assessments
  • Deliver treatment and review aligned with care plans
  • Support discharge planning and continuity of care
  • Monitor mental state and escalate clinical concerns
  • Collaborate with GPs and multidisciplinary teams


    Skills & Experience - Essential

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years mental health nursing experience
  • Strong risk assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team


    Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience in forensic or custodial settings
  • Experience supporting vulnerable or marginalised youth
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence working in high-risk environments


    Other Requirements

  • Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • National Police Check
  • Ability to obtain Justice security clearance
  • Up-to-date Immunisation Category A
  • Valid Victorian driver's licence
