About the Role:
A rewarding opportunity for a committed lPriamry teacher to join the inclusive community of a Primary school in Altona Meadows, situated in Melbourne's bustling West. In this role, you'll take charge of developing and delivering an engaging curriculum tailored to middle primary years, in small classes of under 20 students. Your responsibilities will extend beyond academic enrichment to nurturing students' creative flair and fostering a lifelong love for learning. Key duties:
- Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
- Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
- Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
- Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
