Job Description

An outstanding opportunity awaits a dedicated Middle Primary teacher to join an accredited International Baccalaureate Islamic school, in Truganina for a later Term 1/Term 2 start. This exceptional school, serving around 1600 students from years P-12. The school supports both graduates and experienced teachers, maintains excellent student behaviour and is welcoming of teachers of any faith.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.
  • Integrate Islamic values, teachings, and traditions into your teaching practice, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment that reflects Islamic principles, and actively participating in school events, prayers, and rituals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Must have a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary advantageous
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
