Policy & Operations Officer - 6 Month Contract
Ballarat Location | SCHADS Level 3 | $48-$51/hr + super
An exciting opportunity is available for a Policy & Operations Officer to join a well-regarded community services organisation, supporting the delivery of a government-funded aged care program.
This is a 6-month contract role based in Ballarat, offering the opportunity to work on a meaningful program that supports vulnerable older people to access essential services.
The Role
Supporting an Aged Care program, this position plays a key role in ensuring the program runs effectively, remains compliant, and continues to improve.
This is a non-frontline, behind-the-scenes role, focused on policy, operations, and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and operational frameworks
- Translating funding requirements into practical processes
- Monitoring compliance, quality, and program performance
- Managing reporting, data analysis, and insights for stakeholders
- Supporting continuous improvement and process enhancements
- Engaging with internal teams and external partners
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in policy, program coordination, governance, or operations
- Exposure to compliance frameworks, reporting, or government-funded programs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confidence working with data, reporting, and systems (Excel, CRM, Power BI desirable)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively
Experience within community services, aged care, health, or government will be highly regarded.
