Job Description

The Role:

Tradewind is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a highly respected independent grammar school in Melbourne's West. This co-educational school, known for its strong academic reputation and holistic approach to education, is offering a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 3, working with students across Foundation to Year 4.

Key Duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Teaching Qualifications
  • Current VIT registration
  • Have experience teaching general Primary in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years
