Job Description

About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a passionate Primary teacher to join a community-driven school in Altona North, Melbourne's Western suburbs, starting in Term 1, 2025. This full-time, ongoing role offers the chance to engage with a diverse student body of around 1,000 students, spanning from Foundation to Year 12 across three campuses. Whether you're a graduate or an experienced educator, this school provides robust support, including learning coaching and access to top-tier resources, making it an ideal environment to grow and make a meaningful impact.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration or proof of application
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary in Australia
  • Open to graduates
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
  • Must be ready to start January 2025
