Primary Teacher

The role:

Are you ready to embark on a new Primary teaching role within a nurturing and community-focused environment? We are partnering with a distinguished Islamic School in Truganina that is currently offering a Primary teaching position. This role provides flexibility with a start date from now and extends into 2025.

Join a well-respected Islamic institution that values education, holds International Baccalaureate accreditation, and is dedicated to delivering high standards of teaching and learning. Work alongside supportive Primary teams, with the opportunity to negotiate the specific year level you'll teach.

Key duties:

• Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
• Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
• Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
• Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
• Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

• Eligibility: Must have full Australian working rights.
• Educational Requirements: Hold a minimum four-year bachelor's degree, including at least one year of teaching qualification.
• Certification: Current VIT registration is essential.
• Work Authorization: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
• References: Ability to provide at least two recent education-based references (within the last five years), with student-teacher mentors being acceptable.
• Following: Supportive of the Islamic faith and school ethos
