About the Role:
A full-time Primary teaching role has become available at a welcoming P-9 school in Truganina. This position, beginning immediately, invites you to collaborate with a committed Primary teaching team that prioritizes both academic success and the well-being of its students. The school is known for its supportive leadership and its focus on creating an inclusive, nurturing environment that equips students for the challenges of the future. The curriculum is enriched with a strong emphasis on Indigenous Cultural Inclusion, offering meaningful integration throughout the learning experience. This role is ideal for both graduates and those with permission-to-teach, with ample support provided to all new staff members.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans and instructional materials that align with the Victorian curriculum
  • Establish and maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, including managing student behaviour, fostering positive relationships, and promoting mutual respect among students.
  • Design and administer assessments, to evaluate students' understanding and provide timely feedback to students and parents on their progress and areas for improvement.
  • Provide additional support and assistance to students who require differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning disabilities or English language learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to share ideas, resources, and strategies for improving student learning outcomes.
  • Participate in team meetings, grade-level planning, and school-wide initiatives to support the school community.

Skills & Experience:

  • Eligibility: Must have full Australian working rights.
  • Educational Requirements: Hold a minimum four-year Bachelor's Degree, including at least one year of teaching qualification.
  • Certification: Current VIT registration is essential.
  • Work Authorization: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • References: Ability to provide at least two recent education-based references (within the last five years), with student-teacher mentors being acceptable.
