Program Coordinator - Homelessness & Housing Sector
$101k + Vehicle + On-Call Allowances | Full-Time | Cairns Region

Are you ready to lead with purpose and drive real outcomes for people experiencing homelessness? We're seeking a dynamic and compassionate Program Coordinator to join our team in the Cairns region. This full-time leadership opportunity offers you the chance to shape service delivery, champion recovery-oriented practice, and guide a dedicated team supporting vulnerable adults.


The Role:
As Program Coordinator, you will provide operational oversight and strategic direction for a residential program focused on housing stability and wellbeing. You'll work closely with frontline staff, community stakeholders, and executive leadership to deliver services that are ethical, culturally safe, and outcome-driven.

Key responsibilities include:
* Lead day-to-day program operations, ensuring quality service delivery and positive client outcomes
* Oversee financial, staffing, and resource planning for efficient and sustainable service delivery
* Implement and evaluate care strategies that support housing, health, and community reintegration
* Ensure compliance with all reporting, contractual, and legislative requirements
* Mentor, coach, and develop staff through proactive leadership and succession planning
* Foster a positive workplace culture that prioritises safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
* Participate in the on-call roster and contribute to broader organisational initiatives


About You:
You're a confident, values-driven leader with a passion for social justice. You bring the experience, empathy, and accountability needed to lead teams and create lasting change in the lives of vulnerable people.

You will have:
* Demonstrated experience coordinating programs in homelessness, housing, mental health, or related sectors
* Proven ability to lead, supervise, and develop staff, with strong HR and team-building skills
* Solid financial management skills, including budget oversight and resource allocation
* Understanding of legislation, risk, and compliance in supported accommodation settings
* High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Commitment to trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and culturally responsive practice


Mandatory Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, AOD or similar
* Current Australian Driver's Licence
* First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
* NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
* Working with Children Check
* Participation in on-call duties as required
