Program Coordinator - Homelessness & Housing Sector
$101k+ Vehicle + On-Call Allowances | Full-Time | Cairns Region
This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to drive quality service delivery, champion recovery-oriented practice, and lead a committed team making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable adults. As the Program Coordinator, you will provide operational management and oversight for a residential service supporting up to 20 adults aged 18 and over.
You will bring management and operational experience, passion, innovation and knowledge to demonstrate effective values-based leadership to motivate and mentor people to meet operational objective and targets aligned to our mission and values.
The role:
Lead program operations with a focus on service quality, client outcomes, and contractual compliance
Oversee financial, staffing, and resource planning to ensure efficient service delivery
Implement and review care strategies that prioritise housing stability, wellbeing, and community reintegration
Monitor and evaluate service performance, ensure compliance with relevant legislation and reporting obligations
Support, mentor, and develop staff through strong leadership, coaching, and succession planning
Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Participate in on-call roster and contribute to broader organisational initiatives

You're energised by the challenge of leading a multidisciplinary team and committed to creating sustainable, person-centred outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.
Demonstrated experience coordinating programs or services in the housing and homelessness, mental health, or community sector
Strong leadership and staff management capabilities, including HR oversight and team development
Financial acumen and experience with budget and resource management
Sound knowledge of legislative and funding requirements related to supported accommodation or social services
Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills
A clear commitment to social justice and recovery-oriented practice
The Mandatory Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, AOD, or similar
Current Driver's Licence
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
NDIS Clearance
- Working with Children Check
Participation in on-call duties as required
