Job Description

This specialist service provides safe accommodation and holistic support for Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence. Operating a high-security refuge in northern Melbourne, the organisation delivers culturally strong, trauma-informed support that empowers women to make decisions about their futures.

We are seeking a dedicated Case Manager to provide high-quality case management and advocacy to women and children within the refuge. You will work as part of a supportive team, ensuring the delivery of safe, respectful, and culturally appropriate services.

In this role, you will:

  • Undertake risk assessments, safety planning, and implement risk management strategies.

  • Provide culturally holistic case management and advocacy for women with complex needs.

  • Support women and children through intake, assessment, case planning, and exit planning.

  • Deliver ongoing direct support including court support, referrals, and tenancy assistance.

  • Contribute to program development, community education, and service improvement initiatives.

To succeed, you will have:

  • Qualifications in social work, community services, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong understanding of the cultural and specific needs of Aboriginal women and children experiencing family violence.

  • Experience in case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy.

  • Knowledge (or willingness to train) in MARAM, FVISS, CISS, and SHIP reporting.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal services.

  • Current Victorian driver's licence, Working with Children Check, and Police Check.
