About the Role
We are recruiting an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join a nurse-led primary health team within a youth custodial setting in Malmsbury. This leadership role combines clinical care, staff supervision, and operational coordination to ensure safe, high-quality healthcare delivery to young people in custody.
You will work within a multidisciplinary team providing holistic care including assessments, triage, care planning, and health education.
Key Duties
- Lead and support nursing staff in daily clinical operations
- Coordinate assessments, triage, and care planning
- Supervise, coach and develop nursing staff
- Support quality improvement and clinical governance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary and custodial teams
Skills & Experience - Essential
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated clinical leadership or ANUM experience
- Experience in primary, community, or mental health settings
- Strong risk assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and leadership capability
Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience in justice, custodial, or forensic health (highly regarded)
- Experience working with vulnerable or marginalised youth
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-risk environment
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Other Requirements
- Valid Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- Ability to obtain Justice security clearance
- Up-to-date immunisation status
