About the Role:
Attention Religious Education educators! Explore an exciting opportunity with Tradewind and a prestigious Catholic School in Werribee. We're searching for a committed RE teacher to join in mid Term 2 in a full-time role. Additional teaching opportunities in conjunction with RE may be available. Take charge of instructing students in years 7-10 in an excellent teaching and learning environment.

Key duties:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and comprehensive Religious Education lessons that align with the school's Catholic ethos and the religious education curriculum within the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Fostering the spiritual growth and development of students by providing opportunities for prayer, reflection, and exploration of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions.
  • Assisting students in preparing for sacraments such as Confirmation, First Holy Communion, and Reconciliation through religious instruction, retreats, and sacramental programs.
  • Teaching students about the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, and guiding them in understanding the teachings of Jesus Christ and their relevance to contemporary life.
  • Exploring ethical and moral issues from a Catholic perspective, including topics such as social justice, human rights, and the dignity of life, and encouraging students to apply Catholic moral principles to their decision-making and actions.
  • Engaging with the school community, including parents, parish members, and external Catholic organizations, to promote collaboration and support for the school's religious education program.
  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including counselling, mentoring, and spiritual direction, to help them navigate personal challenges and develop a deeper relationship with God.
  • Assessing students' understanding and application of Catholic teachings and values through various forms of assessment, including exams, projects, presentations, and reflective journals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Religious Education (Catholic) in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).


  • Teaching students in years 7-10
  • Teaching RE- other methods in conjunction, possible
