About the Role:
An exciting chance awaits a passionate Humanities Teacher to become a part of an excellent Catholic school in Melton from this term, instructing students in grades 7-10. The role is also open to those that have experience and an interest in teaching Business Management to middle/senior students. This full-time, ongoing position is available from now is located at the school's main campus in Melton. Become part of a wonderful and well-respected school community from now onwards.
Key duties:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, Civics, Economics, and Social Studies, under the Victorian Curriculum.
- Providing clear and effective instruction to students, utilising various teaching methods and resources to facilitate learning.
- Utilising digital resources, interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online platforms to support instruction and assessment.
- Developing and adapting curriculum materials, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia resources, to meet the needs of diverse learners and enhance engagement.
- Maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
- Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to address disciplinary issues and promote respectful and cooperative behaviour.
- Collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning and well-being. Communicating regularly with parents regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
Skills & Experience:
- Current VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Humanities/Business Management
- Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
