About the Role:
Chiamando tutti gli insegnanti italiani! (Calling all Italian teachers!) A wonderful opportunity has opened up for a passionate Italian teacher to join a highly regarded Catholic school in Cobblebank, starting from Term 1, 2025. This full-time, ongoing position involves teaching students in years 7-10. You'll be part of a supportive LOTE teaching team, in an actively growing school. Key duties:

  • Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Italian LOTE.
  • Deliver effective and interactive Italian language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
  • Introduce aspects of Italian culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
  • Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Italian language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
  • Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Current VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Italian LOTE
  • Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous
  • Graduates welcome to apply
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
