About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity awaits a dedicated Italian LOTE teacher to join a Catholic school in Melbourne's bustling West, commencing in 2026. This full-time role will see you teaching Italian plus one other method, to students in Years 7-10 within a growing school community that values collaboration and active learning. Key duties:
- Develop engaging and age-appropriate curriculum plans in Italian LOTE, that align with the Victorian Curriculum for Secondary students.
- Deliver dynamic and interactive Italian language instruction, with a strong focus on vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and language structures.
- Integrate Italian culture into lessons through activities, literature, history, and projects that build cultural understanding and appreciation.
- Design and implement assessments to monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues across faculties to embed Italian language and cultural perspectives into broader learning programs and school initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning, staying up to date with best practice in language education and innovative teaching methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
- Current VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Italian LOTE within a secondary school setting in AU/NZ
- Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous

- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
