About the Role:
A fantastic opportunity awaits a passionate Secondary teacher to join a dynamic P-9 school community in Truganina, starting in Term 1, 2025. In this role, you'll collaborate with the dedicated Maths/Science team, teaching students in Years 7-9. The school is known for its supportive leadership and commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. With a strong focus on Indigenous Cultural Inclusion, the curriculum is enriched with meaningful cultural perspectives. Whether you're a recent graduate or hold permission to teach, you'll receive extensive support in this welcoming community

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths and Science curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, covering various topics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science.
  • Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, incorporating hands-on experiments, problem-solving activities, and inquiry-based investigations to enhance students' understanding and mastery of mathematical and scientific concepts.
  • Design and administer assessments, tests, and experiments to evaluate students' understanding and provide constructive feedback and support to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Maths and Science departments and across other subject areas to create interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Engage in continuous professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in Maths and Science education.

Skills & Experience:

  • Full Australian Working right
  • Minimum 4 year Bachelors Degree with at least 1 year teaching qualification
  • Current VIT registration or working towards this
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
