About the Role:
Are you a creative and artistic Media teacher looking for a new opportunity? Tradewind is partnering with a fantastic school in Truganina, seeking a teacher to teach years 7-9 in Media, starting from Term 4, leading into 2025, on a full-time basis. Key duties:

  • Have a deep understanding of various forms of media, including film, television, radio, print, and digital media within the Victorian Curriculum.
  • Competency in video and audio editing software, digital tools, and media equipment to guide students in practical tasks.
  • Ability to design engaging lessons that foster creativity in media production and critical thinking about media texts.
  • Skilled in using media-specific technology, such as cameras, editing software, and multimedia tools.
  • Lead students in practical media tasks, such as film-making, podcasting, or producing digital media content. Assist in learning how to use equipment and software.
  • Design and mark assessments that test students' understanding of media concepts, media language, and production skills.
  • Guide students through creative projects, such as making short films, advertisements, or magazine layouts.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in media, technology, and educational practices, attending relevant workshops or training.
  • Work with other staff members and departments to integrate media studies with other subjects and school events.

Skills & Experience:

  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Media Studies
  • Graduates welcome to apply and will be supported
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
