About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated VCE teacher specialising in Linguistics to join a Catholic senior school in Melbourne's West, near Taylors Hill, commencing at the start of the 2026 school year.
This full-time, ongoing role involves teaching VCE Linguistics to senior students, supporting them in developing advanced analytical, critical thinking, and language skills. You will play a key role in guiding students through their VCE studies and preparing them for further education pathways.

Key duties:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging VCE Linguistics lessons in line with the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) study design.
- Develop assessment tasks, provide timely feedback, and accurately report on student progress.
- Foster critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills through the study of language, grammar, phonetics, semantics, discourse, and sociolinguistics.
- Support students in preparing for School-Assessed Coursework (SACs) and VCE examinations.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources, including technology, to cater for diverse learning needs and styles.
- Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning, moderation, and professional learning teams.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, pastoral care, and co-curricular programs that support the holistic development of students.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Linguistics specifically
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
