About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate and dedicated Woodwork teacher to join a welcoming Catholic co-educational school in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs, commencing from now.This full-time position is open to educators who are enthusiastic about hands-on learning and inspiring creativity and craftsmanship in students across Years 7-12 in a well resourced workshop environment.

Key duties:
- Design and develop a comprehensive woodwork curriculum aligned with educational standards and objectives.
- Plan engaging and effective lessons that cater to students' skill levels and promote hands-on learning in the woodwork shop.
- Provide clear and thorough instruction on woodworking techniques, tools, and safety procedures.
- Demonstrate proper and safe use of woodworking tools and machinery.
- Facilitate the development of woodworking skills, including measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing projects.
- Establish and maintain a positive and orderly learning environment, managing student behaviour
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on industry trends, teaching methodologies, and safety standards.
Skills & Experience:
- Must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration is essential
- Proven experience teaching secondary Woodwork in Australia
- Commitment to supporting the Catholic Ethos of the school
- Ability to provide two education-based references from the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable)
Offering:
- A full-time, ongoing position starting from Term 3
- Work with students in years 7-12
- Salary aligned with demonstrated expertise, ranging from $78,000 to $116,000
- Be part of a small team including wood technicians in a well resourced space
