About the Role


The Senior Area Manager (SAM) delivers business outcomes through high quality standard of care to our young people, proactive relationship management of internal and external stakeholders, pragmatic decision making and leading a culture of performance. The role develops and implements an enterprise aligned regional business plan delivering commercial results for the region and is a senior leader in the Operations team.

  • Owns regional stakeholder analysis and management.
  • Drives functional ingenuity and optimises service capacity.
  • Leads external client delivery and community relationships.
  • Leads psychological safety.
  • Unites strategy and operations, driving strategic agility.
  • Successfully leverages the impact on self and team to drive improvements in cohesiveness.
  • Establishes both formal and informal professional relationships, successfully building and maintaining rapport with and between stakeholders.
  • Leads change and continuous improvement, driving and implementing change initiatives with team members.

About You

The role of Senior Area Manager is a functional leader position. You will display values-driven leadership and align your leadership with Safe Places Executive Management, supporting a shared company culture of unity, support, response, passion, and professionalism.

  • Leadership capability, supporting young people by leading local operations.
  • Operational Planning, transitional nature of the placements requires continued and iterative focus and heavy time commitment.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a Youth Work related field (e.g., Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Community Work, Child Protection etc.).
  • Relevant management qualification of at least a Cert IV in Business Management or equivalent experience engaging in available company leadership development/training, as directed.
  • Demonstrated, in-depth understanding of quality systems in a residential youth service, gained through significant quality services experience.
  • Experience and competency using MS suite, with ability to learn other programs.
  • Hold a valid WA drivers licence.
