Senior Communications Advisor
Pay: $80,000-$100,000 + super (salary packaging available)
Location: Carlton, VIC (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office)
Employment Type: 0.8 FTE - Full Time | Immediate Start

Tradewind Australia is partnering with a purpose-driven organisation in Carlton to recruit an experienced Senior Communications Advisor. This role offers the opportunity to shape creative, strategic and impactful communications that support community health and wellbeing. Working within a small, collaborative team, you will help deliver multi-channel campaigns and content that drive engagement and amplify organisational impact.

About the Role

As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will coordinate and deliver communications and campaign activities across digital, media and community platforms. You will work closely with the Fundraising Lead and a network of freelancers, media partners and creative suppliers to manage timelines, produce engaging content and support broader organisational initiatives.

This position suits a versatile communications professional who brings creativity, strategic thinking and strong project management skills, with the ability to adapt in a rapidly shifting policy and media landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver multi-channel communications and campaign activities
  • Manage relationships with freelancers, media contacts and creative partners
  • Develop engaging written and visual content for social, web and media platforms
  • Support event and fundraising communications
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance to inform future activity

What You'll Bring

Essential

  • 4-6 years' experience in communications, campaigns or marketing
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor tone and style
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Familiarity with tools such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Google Analytics or media monitoring software
  • A flexible, hands-on approach and enthusiasm for working in a small, high-performing team

Desirable

  • Understanding of the Australian media and political landscape
  • Innovative mindset with new ideas, energy and interest in strategy
  • Experience with start-ups, new non-profits or organisations undergoing growth
  • Background outside the NFP sector
