About the role
As the Senior Coordinator - Stepped Care, you'll provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and clinical oversight to a small team. You'll guide complex decision-making, promote trauma-informed and culturally safe care, and drive collaboration with key stakeholders and service partners across the Better Connect network. Your leadership will shape holistic, stepped care responses that reflect best practice and genuinely improve lives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, support and develop a dedicated team of Stepped Care Coordinators

  • Ensure high-quality assessment, brief intervention, and continuity of care

  • Drive clinical governance, compliance, and continuous improvement

  • Facilitate collaborative planning with multidisciplinary teams and lived experience workers

  • Represent the program in sector forums and support strengthened referral pathways

Role Requirements:

  • Extensive experience across mental health settings and knowledge of relevant systems, legislation, and care coordination for underserved groups
  • Proven leadership and clinical governance experience

  • A strong commitment to trauma-informed practice and cultural safety within a person-centred model

  • Experience delivering high-quality client engagement across AOD, mental health and suicide prevention services

  • Comfort with inbound/outbound call environments and delivering brief interventions

  • Proven success in achieving KPIs within community or primary health settings

  • Excellent interpersonal, mentoring and team leadership skills

  • Proficiency in client management systems such as TrakCare and Fixus

Additional requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Health, or a related field
  • QLD Open Driver's Licence
  • Valid Working with Children check for QLD
