Job Description

Location: Based in Brisbane Head office

Lead proactive WHS initiatives that create real impact across a purpose-driven, national organisation.

Here's how you make your next move count...

Join a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation making a lasting impact in the lives of children and young people. As Senior WHS Business Partner, you'll play a vital leadership role, guiding and mentoring a small team of WHS professionals while driving safety outcomes across complex and rewarding out-of-home care environments.

This is more than a compliance role - it's a chance to lead from the front, influence strategy, and create safer outcomes for both staff and the young people we support.

The role

  • Lead and develop a team of WHS Business Partners across national operations.
  • Drive proactive WHS initiatives, championing a positive and engaged safety culture.
  • Conduct complex risk assessments and incident investigations, identifying root causes and actionable improvements.
  • Supervise, mentor and develop WHS Business Partners to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Provide expert advice to leaders and operational teams on WHS legislation, strategy, and best practice.
  • Influence and embed a proactive, values-aligned safety culture.
  • Design and implement WHS systems, audits, tools, and resources to support a safe and responsive workplace.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in WHS or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in WHS leadership, ideally within human services or complex organisational settings.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and building capability across safety teams.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a mission-led, not-for-profit organisation that values safety and wellbeing.
  • Work with leaders who are engaged, collaborative, and invested in real-world safety solutions.
  • Enjoy outstanding employee benefits including:
    • Competitive salary
    • Salary packaging to boost your take-home pay
    • 6 weeks annual leave
    • Annual bonus based on your years of service
    • Flexibility to work from any location in Australia

Step into a role where your leadership, experience, and passion for safety can make a real and lasting difference.
