Job Description

An excellent prospect is available for a committed Secondary Spanish LOTE teacher to join an F-9 school in Point Cook, located in Melbourne's West. This role is centred on instructing students in years 7-9 in Spanish, with modern facilities, in a full time, ongoing opportunity. Work within a dedicated team of 3, with planning and collaboration a large part of the LOTE programs success. The school welcomes new graduates, those with permission to teach, and experienced educators, and is distinguished by its excellent management.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum, ensuring a balanced focus on language proficiency, cultural awareness, and communication skills.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and levels of proficiency.
  • Deliver effective and dynamic Spanish language instruction, covering listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Integrate cultural components into language lessons to provide students with a well-rounded understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures
  • Develop assessment tools to evaluate students' language proficiency and cultural understanding.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in language education and teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate Spanish language and culture into broader educational themes of the school

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Spanish LOTE
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
