The Role



As a Tradewind Casual Relief Teacher, you will work across a selection of primary and secondary schools. We match your skills, experience and availability to the right schools to ensure you enjoy each placement and feel supported throughout.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons that maintain continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learning needs across different schools
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Provide clear handover notes and support daily routines
Skills & Experience
Must-Haves
  • Current and valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
  • Completed teaching qualification (Primary and/or Secondary)
  • Ability to confidently manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment
  • Ability to provide two education-based references (mentor teachers accepted)
  • Experience or willingness to work in Special Development Settings
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience teaching across a range of year levels
  • Familiarity with different school settings (government, independent, Catholic)
