Specialist Cultural Adviser - Muslim Communities

๐Ÿ“ Locations: Werribee TOD (1 day) | Broadmeadows TOD (2 days) | Office (1 day) | Work From Home (1 day)
โณ Contract: Full-time, 24-month fixed term
๐Ÿ’ฐ Salary: SCHADS Level 5.1-5.2


We are seeking a Muslim woman who understands the experiences, strengths, and challenges within Muslim communities, and can help make family violence support safer, more culturally respectful, and faith-aware.

About the Role

  • This role works alongside The Orange Door teams, offering cultural insight and guidance so Muslim women, children, young people, and people using violence can access the right help in a way that feels safe and respectful.

  • Your work will help practitioners respond in a culturally sensitive way, reduce barriers to support, and create better outcomes for our communities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Sharing cultural knowledge to help improve services for Muslim families

  • Supporting work with victim-survivors, children, and people using violence

  • Encouraging culturally safe and faith-aware responses

  • Promoting understanding, respect, and inclusion in service settings

  • Helping challenge and address racism and bias in systems

What We're Looking For

  • Female applicant who identifies as Muslim and understands the faith and community

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related field

  • MARAM trained with knowledge of family violence services

  • Able to work respectfully and safely with both victim-survivors and people who use violence
