Specialist Cultural Adviser - Muslim Communities
๐ Locations: Werribee TOD (1 day) | Broadmeadows TOD (2 days) | Office (1 day) | Work From Home (1 day)
โณ Contract: Full-time, 24-month fixed term
๐ฐ Salary: SCHADS Level 5.1-5.2
We are seeking a Muslim woman who understands the experiences, strengths, and challenges within Muslim communities, and can help make family violence support safer, more culturally respectful, and faith-aware.
About the Role
This role works alongside The Orange Door teams, offering cultural insight and guidance so Muslim women, children, young people, and people using violence can access the right help in a way that feels safe and respectful.
Your work will help practitioners respond in a culturally sensitive way, reduce barriers to support, and create better outcomes for our communities.
What You'll Be Doing
Sharing cultural knowledge to help improve services for Muslim families
Supporting work with victim-survivors, children, and people using violence
Encouraging culturally safe and faith-aware responses
Promoting understanding, respect, and inclusion in service settings
Helping challenge and address racism and bias in systems
What We're Looking For
Female applicant who identifies as Muslim and understands the faith and community
Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related field
MARAM trained with knowledge of family violence services
Able to work respectfully and safely with both victim-survivors and people who use violence
