About the Role:
Are you passionate about promoting wellbeing and values in a primary school setting? Join a small, community-minded primary school in Altona as a Wellbeing and Values Specialist. This unique position involves teaching students from Foundation to Year 6, reinforcing a positive mindset and community togetherness through a new, innovative program.

This part-time role (4 days a week) offers flexibility in scheduling and the chance to collaborate closely with other specialist teachers. Start making a difference now and be part of an inspiring new initiative within the school.

Key duties:

  • Develop and implement a wellbeing and values education curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and school policies.
  • Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that cover topics such as emotional intelligence, resilience, mindfulness, empathy, respect, and integrity.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate wellbeing and values education into everyday classroom activities.
  • Organise and lead school-wide initiatives and events that promote wellbeing and school values, such as anti-bullying campaigns, kindness weeks, or community service projects.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional learning communities to share insights, strategies, and resources.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with the latest research and best practices in wellbeing and values education.
  • Ensure that the wellbeing and values education program aligns with the school's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Skills & Experience:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Current VIT registration
  • Demonstrate previous experience in Primary teaching in Australia most advantageous
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

  • Starting from now in a fixed term contract with possible 2025 opportunities
  • Work Tue, Wed and Thu with flexible other day- Mon or Fri
  • Teach across all year levels F-6
