About the Organisation

We are a values-driven, not-for-profit organisation working across health, disability, counselling, and community mental health services throughout Australia. Our purpose is to promote health, build hope, and create opportunity so that everyone can belong and live well.

With a strong focus on early childhood intervention, we partner with families, communities, and government to deliver inclusive, high-quality supports that create meaningful outcomes for children.

About the Role

The Team Lead - Early Childhood is a senior leadership role responsible for the operational, clinical, and strategic leadership of multidisciplinary early childhood teams. Reporting to the Program Director, you will ensure services are delivered in line with NDIA requirements, evidence-based practice, and organisational values.

You will lead teams to deliver high-quality early supports for children and families, drive continuous improvement, oversee performance and risk, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across health, education, and disability systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong, values-based leadership to multidisciplinary teams, building capability, consistency, and confidence in practice

  • Oversee service performance, KPIs, and contractual targets, using data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities

  • Ensure Early Childhood services align with NDIA guidelines, best-practice frameworks, and funding requirements

  • Lead and embed continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, efficiency, and workforce sustainability

  • Manage projects and change initiatives using structured project management approaches

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including NDIA and community agencies

  • Ensure culturally safe, inclusive, and family-centred practice across all services

  • Capture and embed family feedback to inform service design and innovation

About You

You are a confident, strategic leader with a strong background in early childhood, disability, health, or community services. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy leading people through change, and are passionate about improving outcomes for children and families.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams

  • Strong operational management skills, including workforce planning, performance management, and risk mitigation

  • Proven ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into action

  • Experience managing services within contractual, funding, and compliance frameworks

  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Commitment to evidence-based, family-centred, and outcomes-focused practice

  • Strong understanding of culturally safe and inclusive service delivery

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the NDIS, NDIA guidelines, and Early Childhood Early Intervention / Early Connections frameworks

  • Experience leading service improvement and change initiatives

  • Postgraduate qualifications in leadership or management

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health (Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapist), Early Childhood or Social Work

  • Eligibility for registration or membership with a relevant professional body

  • Current NSW driver's licence

  • Eligibility to work in Australia

  • Willingness to complete relevant background and screening checks

What We Offer

  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options

  • Supportive, inclusive, and values-led culture

  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications

  • Generous not-for-profit salary packaging

  • Professional supervision, leadership development, and career progression opportunities

  • Access to Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing initiatives

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families

Our Values

We believe in social justice, equity, and authentic care. You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Are values-driven and mission-aligned

  • Want to work with a team that trusts and respects your expertise

  • Are resilient and committed to creating safer futures for others

  • Seek a workplace where your voice and lived experience are genuinely valued
