Are you an experienced Child Protection Team Leader, or a Senior / Advanced Child Protection Practitioner who has provided mentoring and informal leadership to staff?

We are currently partnering with a respected Aboriginal organisation in Bendigo to recruit a Team Leader within the Aboriginal Child Protection Team (ACAC Wartaka).

This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a leadership role within a culturally strong, community-led environment making a real difference for Aboriginal children and families.


About the Role

The Team Leader plays a critical role in guiding and supporting a dedicated team of practitioners working with children, families, and community to promote safety, stability, and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing day-to-day leadership, supervision and practice guidance to practitioners

  • Ensuring high-quality service delivery within a statutory framework

  • Operating under the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005

  • Overseeing case allocation and managing cases awaiting allocation

  • Supporting sound decision-making and risk assessment

  • Contributing to a positive, culturally safe team environment

You will lead a small, dynamic team and play a pivotal role in strengthening outcomes for Aboriginal children.


About You

  • Previous experience as a Child Protection Team Leader,
    OR

  • Senior / Advanced Child Protection Practitioner experience with demonstrated mentoring and leadership capability

  • Strong statutory Child Protection background

  • Confidence operating within legislative and court frameworks

  • Demonstrated ability to support, guide and develop practitioners

  • Commitment to culturally safe and respectful practice

  • Willingness to relocate to Bendigo if not currently local
