Services Team Leader - Foster & Kinship Care
Permanent Full-Time | Monday-Friday
$110,000 + Super | Company Vehicle Provided

We're looking for a Services Team Leader to guide our Foster and Kinship Care team and support high-quality, culturally grounded care for children and young people. In this role, you'll oversee carer recruitment, assessments, training, and ongoing support, while ensuring our program meets all regulatory, licensing and quality standards.

You'll bring strong leadership, a trauma-informed practice lens, and a commitment to the safety, wellbeing, and cultural connection of every child in care. This role also plays a key part in upholding the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld), embedding the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Placement Principle (ATSICPP), and ensuring alignment with Child Safe Standards and the Universal Principle.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and professional supervision to Foster and Kinship Case Practitioners.
* Oversee all carer assessments (initial approvals, reviews, and re-approvals) and ensure they meet departmental, legislative, and internal compliance standards.
* Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with carer families, including training, retention support, and problem-solving where needed.
* Work closely with Child Safety Placement Support Services to coordinate placements and ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and legally compliant.
* Contribute to team planning, performance development, quality assurance, policy work, and continuous improvement.
* Represent the organisation at community and sector events, promoting our values, advocating for carers, and strengthening partnerships.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or similar.
* Minimum two years' experience in child protection.
* Strong understanding of Queensland's foster and kinship care legislative framework.
* Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
* Previous team leadership or supervision experience in community services.
* Experience in carer assessments, behaviour support, and stress-management strategies.
* Current Police Check.
* Ability to obtain a Blue Card.
* Ability to obtain LCS2 clearance.
* Current driver's licence.
