About the Role:
Looking for a teaching role where you can make a lasting impact? A unique opportunity awaits in a school near Werribee starting Term 1, 2025 with the opportunity for casual teaching work in Term 4, 2024. This role offers opportunities across subjects such as English, Art, Maths and PE.
The school is part of the Youth Justice Precinct and serves as a registered Specialist School, providing secondary certificates for young people in the custody of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Key duties:
- Strong understanding of the Victorian/Australian Curriculum and the ability to design and deliver lessons aligned with educational standards.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and create a conducive learning environment.
- Deep knowledge of the subject(s) being taught, whether it's English, humanities, Mathematics etc within the 7-12 Curriculum as well as the VET program.
- Expertise in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities
- Ability to assess student progress through tests, assignments, and formative assessments, providing constructive feedback to guide learning.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into lessons, including using digital resources and online learning platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students.
- Working collaboratively with other teachers and staff in planning, resource sharing, and professional development.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 4-year Bachelor degree with minimum 1 year Teaching qualification
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Secondary Education in Australia
- Open to Graduate Teachers
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).

As a registered specialist school, it serves young people aged 10-21 in custody under the Department of Justice and Community Safety and secure services with the Department of Families, Fairness, and Housing. The College focuses on delivering tailored educational programs to some of Victoria's most vulnerable youth, fostering their potential. With a culturally responsive teaching approach, the curriculum includes the Victorian Curriculum (F-10), Senior Secondary Certificates (VCE, VM, VPC), and vocational studies, supported by strong community partnerships.
