Job Description

The Role:

Tradewind is excited to partner with an independent grammar school in Melbourne's West to appoint a passionate and dedicated VCE Accounting and Economics teacher. This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing in Term 3, 2025.

You'll deliver engaging VCE Accounting and Economics programs, helping students build financial literacy, economic understanding, and analytical skills in a well-resourced and supportive setting.

Enjoy working under strong leadership within a collaborative environment that values professional growth and student-focused teaching. Salary ranges from $83,483 to $125,182 plus super, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the VCE Accounting and Economics Study Designs (Units 1-4), incorporating a variety of teaching methods, real-world scenarios, and multimedia tools to support diverse learning styles.
  • Teach key subject content, including accounting principles (financial reports, cash/accrual systems, budgeting) and economic theories, trends, and their real-world applications, while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Design and assess coursework, including SACs, practice exams, projects, and class activities using both formative and summative assessment strategies; provide timely, constructive feedback and exam preparation support.
  • Collaborate effectively with Commerce faculty and wider staff teams, sharing best practices and coordinating strategies across subjects.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning, stay informed of current economic and accounting developments, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Support co-curricular initiatives, such as student participation in Accounting or Economics competitions and enrichment programs.

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Appropriate Teaching qualifications
  • Current VIT registration or the ability to become registered in Victoria as a teacher
  • At least 2 years experience teaching VCE Accounting/Economics in Australia essential
  • Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Valid Vic driver's license
