About the Role:
An exciting chance awaits a passionate senior Biology Teacher to become a part of an excellent Catholic school in Melton from now, instructing students in grades 10-11. Offering a Full-time, ongoing position based at the main campus in Melton, be part of a wonderful and well respected school community from Term 1, onwards.
Key duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging Biology curriculum in accordance with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Deliver effective and interactive Biology lessons, incorporating laboratory work and hands-on experiments.
- Develop assessments to evaluate students' understanding of biological concepts and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Oversee and manage the biology laboratory, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Plan and execute laboratory experiments that enhance students' practical understanding of biology.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of advancements in biological sciences and teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with other science teachers to coordinate interdisciplinary activities and projects.
Skills & Experience:
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Biology, in Australia
- Previous experience teaching within the Catholic System advantageous
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
