The Role:
Are you a passionate Science/Chemistry/Physics teacher looking to inspire the next generation in 2026? Tradewind is partnering with a Catholic school in Melbourne's North, to offer a full-time teaching role in VCE Chemistry, Physics and general Science. Key Duties
- Plan, design, and deliver engaging Physics and Chemistry lessons aligned with the Victorian and VCE curricula.
- Incorporate diverse teaching strategies, including experiments, demonstrations, and interactive activities, to support varied learning styles.
- Organize and supervise laboratory sessions, ensuring safety procedures are followed and equipment is properly maintained.
- Develop and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, exams, lab reports, and VCE preparation, to evaluate student understanding and provide constructive feedback.
- Connect scientific concepts to real-world applications to enhance student engagement and relevance.
- Track and support student progress, offering guidance to help them achieve academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to enrich the science program and contribute to the wider school community.
- Participate in professional development to stay current with curriculum updates and educational best practices.
- Lead or support extracurricular science initiatives, such as clubs, competitions, or science fairs.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold a valid VIT registration
- CECV Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or working towards)- school can support this
- Experience in VCE required- minimum 2 years
- Minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
