Job Description
A terrific opportunity is available for a VCE Chemistry teacher to join an accredited International Baccalaureate Islamic school located in Truganina in Term 2, 2024. This distinguished school, catering to approximately 1600 students spanning from years P-12, welcomes both seasoned educators and recent graduates. The institution boasts a positive student conduct environment and is inclusive, embracing teachers of all faiths.
Key duties:
- Design and develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the VCE Chemistry curriculum.
- Deliver high-quality instruction to students, facilitating their understanding of complex chemical concepts and theories.
- Create and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and exams, to evaluate student comprehension and progress.
- Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring the safety and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve academic success.
- Collaborate with other teachers, department members, and school administrators to enhance the overall learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.
- Participate in extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as science fairs, clubs, or competitions, to further enrich students' learning experiences.
Skills & Experience:
- Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
- Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Science
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
