About the Role:
An exciting opportunity awaits a passionate and experienced VCE Chemistry teacher to join a growing secondary school in Melbourne's West. With 1,200 students across two campuses (Years 7-10) and plans for full VCE expansion into 2026, this role offers the chance to inspire students in a dynamic and future-focused learning environment in years 10-11. Key duties:

  • Design and develop engaging lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with the VCE Chemistry curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction to students, facilitating their understanding of complex chemical concepts and theories.
  • Create and administer assessments, including tests, quizzes, and exams, to evaluate student comprehension and progress.
  • Organize and supervise laboratory experiments and activities, ensuring the safety and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help students achieve academic success.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, department members, and school administrators to enhance the overall learning experience for students and contribute to the school community.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities related to chemistry, such as science fairs, clubs, or competitions, to further enrich students' learning experiences.

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Education
  • Current VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Minimum 2 years' experience teaching Chemistry at VCE level in Vic/Australia
  • Ability to start this term (Term 2)
  • Able to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
