About the Role:

An exciting chance awaits a seasoned VCE Legal Studies teacher to become a part of an excellent Catholic school in Melton from now, instructing students in grades 11-12. Join the exceptional faculty at this cooperative institution, which is offering a contract position for 2024 with prospects for continuity.

Key duties:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive Legal Studies curriculum in accordance with relevant curriculum standards, integrating Catholic values where applicable.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in Legal Studies, ensuring students develop a deep understanding of legal principles and ethical considerations.
  • Design and implement assessments to evaluate students' understanding of legal concepts.
  • Promote an understanding of the ethical dimensions of legal issues in alignment with Catholic social teachings.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about legal developments, teaching methodologies, and educational best practices.
  • Encourage students to participate in legal competitions, moot courts, and other extracurricular activities.

Skills & Experience:

  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE, in Australia
  • Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
