A remarkable opportunity awaits an experienced VCE Literature Teacher to join a terrific Catholic Secondary school in Altona North. This part-time role (0.66), commencing from now and possibly extending into 2025. Duties include instructing students in year 11 and 12 VCE Literature students. Key Duties
- Develop and implement detailed lesson plans that align with the VCE Literature curriculum.
- Employ a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Select and analyse a range of texts, including prose, poetry, drama, and other literary forms from various periods and cultures.
- Design activities and assignments that promote critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of literary texts.
- Create and administer formative and summative assessments, such as essays, exams, presentations, and projects and prepare students for VCE exams.
- Promote a love of reading and appreciation of literature among students.
- Establish and maintain a positive and productive learning environment, including managing student behaviour, promoting respect and collaboration, and addressing disciplinary issues as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in English education, curriculum updates, and educational research.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Hold a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
- Experience in VCE Literature essential
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years Highly developed interpersonal skills
- An understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions are essential for teaching within the Catholic system, or a preparedness to be working within this system
Offering:
- Part-time- 0.6 contract with possible working opportunities into 2025
- Commencement from now
- Receiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, within the range of $75,000 to $115,000
