Job Description

The Role:

Tradewind is seeking a passionate and dedicated VCE Legal Studies teacher with at least 2 years' experience to join a highly regarded independent grammar school in Melbourne's West. This co-educational school, known for its academic excellence and focus on holistic student development, offers a full-time, ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2026.

Key Duties:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in VCE Legal Studies within the Victorian curriculum framework, covering topics such as criminal law, civil law, and legal studies in global contexts.
  • Designing and administering assessments to measure students' understanding of legal concepts and their ability to apply legal reasoning and analysis.
  • Facilitating inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore legal issues, analyse real-world scenarios, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Integrating current legal events and developments into the curriculum to keep content relevant and engaging for students.
  • Assisting students in preparing for VCE Legal Studies exams, including providing study guides, practice exams, and exam strategies to help students succeed in their assessments.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Legal Studies department and across other subject areas to share best practices, develop interdisciplinary projects, and support students' holistic development

Skills & Experience:

  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Teaching Qualifications
  • Current VIT registration
  • Have at least 2 years' experience teaching VCE Legal studies in Vic/Australia/NZ
  • Ability to provide contact details for at least two education-based references from within the last 5 years
